A lot of media related things have things we think are amazing among many yet when you bring it up to your average joe they’d say something along the lines of: “What’s that?”. now let’s discuss what you think are some of those but within the world of anime. This isn’t a thread to hate on people, if someone’s opinion differs from yours do not attack them!! I’ll start us off as I do for most of my threads.

Two hidden gems in my opinion are Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo and Welcome to Irabu’s Office.

Gankutsuou follows the events of an aristocrat named Albert as well as his friend The Count of Monte Cristo and the bizarre, mysterious things that go on with the Count.

Irabu’s Office is a sort of weirder anime about a psychiatrist that treats their patients in weird ways but in the end it all works out.

So, i'm about to say something that will initially sound very weird, but bear with me.
    "A sisters all you need"
AKA that one anime with a really, REALLY weird first minute.
Its fairly recent, i'm pretty sure it came out during 2017, and it is extremly ecchi, HOWEVER!...
I also think its an absolutely fantastic slice of life, and almost each and every character actully has fantastic development.
Its about a group of friends, who mostly happen to be light-novel writers, and their daily lives, most of them have some sort of interesting backstory that sometimes somehow justifies even the most bizarre of personality traits.
It is, of course, an ecchi anime, but at the same time it both tells a nice story, and generally just makes a nice watch.
Just as long as you look away at the first minute and a little in episode 9, you'll be alright.

    ...Vinland saga?
Then again, Thorkell's very existence is its own form of fanservice.

    ...
    Why?
    Is it manga stuff?
Or is it just Canute's amazing yet very cryable character arc?
